TİSK President EYÜBOĞLU Met With Secretary Of Labour Thomas E.PEREZ in The White House
TİSK and GAN TURKEY President Yağız Eyüboğlu was invited to International Apprenticeships Meeting to present GAN TURKEY which is shown as the best practice in the world. The Meeting which was held in White House on 6 October 2016 hosted by US Secretary of Labour Thomas E. Perez.
CEO’s of GAN Member of Board Companies, Senior Managers of institutions including International Labour Organization (ILO), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), International Organisation of Employers (IOE) participated the Meeting.
President Yağız Eyüboğlu informed Minister Perez on apprenticeships practices in Turkey and GAN TURKEY activities.
In his speech, Eyüboğlu stated that as employers they needed skilled workforce and they saw apprenticeship as the best solution to the youth unemployment. ‘‘Apprenticeship programmes implemented by GAN TURKEY’s 31 Member Companies set an example for the world. In one year time we offered opportunities to 27.064 young people. With İŞKUR’s one of a kind apprenticeship incentives, GAN TURKEY Member Companies gave apprenticeship opportunities to 4.247 young people and employed 1.293 of them. Turkey case is one of the best practices on the collaboration between Government and employers. It is impossible to succeed without the support of government.’’ Eyüboğlu said.
US Secretary of Labour Thomas E. Perez said that they tried to follow the success stories of other countries and apprenticeships were colleges without debt. ‘‘We allocated 90 million Dollars fund for apprenticeships as government. We are happy to have a global partner such as GAN.’’
