GAN TURKEY’s Activities Were Introduced at 104th International Labour Conference
TİSK Secretary General Bülent Pirler delivered a speech on GAN TURKEY in 104th International Labour Conference’s Employer session in Geneva on 9 June 2015.
In his presentation, Pirler highlighted the importance of the protocol signed between İŞKUR and TİSK (on behalf of GAN TURKEY) as a part of an incentive package that was announced by Government to enhance apprenticeships right after GAN TURKEY’s Opening Ceremony.
Pirler continued his speech as follow; GAN TURKEY comprises of 25 member companies that has 82,277 employees and give apprenticeships opportunities for 6,217 young people. We believe that this number is going to increase and we will continue to contribute the qualified workforce creating process as a result of our future works.
On the other hand, GAN Board Meeting was held on 10 June 2015 in Geneva. In addition to TİSK and other employer organisations representatives like Indonesia, Nigeria, Colombia, ILO, BIAC, Samsung, Adecco, UBS, IBM representatives also attended the meeting that was held under the presidency of GAN President and Telefonica CEO José María Álvarez-Pallete.
2015 budget was approved after Director Shea Gopaul gave information on Global GAN’s activities.
TİSK Represantative indicated that Opening and Signature Ceremony of GAN TURKEY held on 25 February 2015, first technical meeting was held on 12 March, in addition to that, executive commitee was elected and ‘‘Principles and Fundamentals of Work’’ were approved in the Meeting of GAN TURKEY CEO’s Meeting on 13 May 2015. It was also indicated that GAN TURKEY would continue to its activities on apprenticeships like Apprenticeships Day, international conferences, sharing best practices etc.
The Director General Agung Pambudhi also made a presentation on Indonesian Apprenticeships Network that was established on 28 May 2015 by Indonesian Employers Organisation (APINDO).
Span National Apprenticeships Network’s opening ceremony which will be held in Madrid on 17 June 2015 was also announced to participants.
