GAN TURKEY - Global Apprenticeships Network

Youth unemployment problem that increased after the global economic crisis, became the main topic of G20’s agenda. In this context, with the signature of B20 and L20 Declaration on the importance of apprenticeship, The International Organisation of Employers (IOE) and The Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC) established Global Apprenticeship Network (GAN) with the help of International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 2013.

GAN has the characteristic of being the first concrete output of B20 Employment Taskforce and it encourages the business world to enhance youth’s skills and employment.

GAN started the process of establishing national networks to reply different economic, cultural and institutional needs and have an impact on public policies and legislations.

In this direction, GAN TURKEY was established in 25 February 2015 led by Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) in Turkey.
