Guy Ryder: ‘‘GAN TURKEY Is the Best Example’’
General Director of International Labour Organisation (ILO) Guy Ryder said in his interview with Hürriyet and Hürriyet Daily News that there should have been a direct proportion between the needs of labor market and youth education and skills. Ryder explained that youth unemployment rate is 3 times bigger than general unemployment. From now on, the most important thing is to harmonise labor markets requests and youth education and skills. Employers involvement in education should be increased and the correlation between working life and education should be strengthen. Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations’ (TİSK) Global Apprenticeships Network (GAN) project is a successful example on this subject. ’’
